XPG SX6000 PCIe Gen3x2 M.2 2280 low write speeds

Post by knaz » Sat May 19, 2018 5:00 pm

Good afternoon!I made a test using CrystalDiskMark6_0_0 program. It turned out that the speed does not match the declared in the passport (write=560 MB /s). What to do?

Hi Knaz,
Glad to see you here with XPG FORUM and sorry for the late response.

Regarding the speed issue I would like to know what capacity of SX6000?
If it's 128GB, it’s reasonable. And the performance will depend on different motherboard condition.
M.2 SSD performance is much better compare to SATA SSD, so the temperature will be also higher than SATA SSD.
But XPG SX6000 supports thermal throttling function, if system cooling is not well thermal throttling will be triggered.
SX6000 also comes with thermal pad inside the package, it would be better to use the thermal pad with SX6000 together.

Thermal throttling: if the working temperature is too high, it will control the performance then maintenance the temperature to protect the controller IC.

Thanks for the reply. The capacity of the drive is 256 gigabytes. The temperature is 51 degrees. Motherboard "GIGABYTE Z370M D3X". Bios f6 is the latest version.

Hi Knaz
Thanks for the update.
As SX6000 is one of XPG entry level M.2 products so the performance will be limited due to different work loading. We strongly recommend to use thermal pad in order to have better stable performance. Let us know if any questions, thanks! :)

Thanks for the useless response, Mr. Technical Support. if you were interested, you would know that 51 is the initial temperature with which the disk starts to work after turning on the computer

Hello, i have no Issues with Read / write speed (1000/800 is no problem) but with the Temp.
"Hard Disk Senitnel" reads an idle temp of 50°C Celsius, and on load it is over 80°C.
I have the nvme in an Lenovo Yoga 520 Laptop/tablet. and i can feel the heat on the buttom of the device. I have the so called "heatsink" on the chip which was included.
Which are the regular operational temps for this Module?
Sorry for my bad english.
